I didn't do the model. I just did the textures to get some practice and to do something new. This is my first attempt at skinning a weapon, painting metal, and using bump and spec maps. Thought I'd post it here and get some crits on it.

No lights, 100% self-illumination

1 spot 2 omnis, 0% illumination (I'm very noobish with lighting so please feel free to crit that too, hehe):

Here are the flats:
Diffuse (http://www.hollowmind.org/images/outlaw_texture.jpg)
Bump (http://www.hollowmind.org/images/outlaw_bump.jpg)
Spec (http://www.hollowmind.org/images/outlaw_spec.jpg)

So give me some crits. :) I'm always looking to improve.

Update:

Messed with all the textures according to some crits I got on a different forum. I updated all the jpg's for each texture so you can see them through the links above. This is for an HL2 mod I agreed to help out a friend with.

nice texture job, mang. i'd suggest adding a bit of indented design work into the metal to appear more interesting. other than that it looks great!

I think it needs a lot of work; it looks like a dirty plastic gun. The bump map is so extreme that it looks like this gun must have been dug up from an archaeological site, and the diffuse is much too bright. All metals are actually very dark, and only become bright when they reflect light around them, and they also get very tight, bright specular highlights. Try doing more research for suitable pics to base your texture on - there are lots of books and websites run by gun enthusiasts that feature antique weapon photographs. Pay extra attention to where the scratches tend to occur most, how dirt gathers, etc.
