no problem! Im sure you were just excited to get this image on to the site...as for the grass...look on google for grass brushes(for photoshop or w/e ur using)...you could use those to make them!

as for the pic...it looks very nice so far(although i think more detail should be put in the rest of the piece since the cape is so detailed)

zing that grass looks cheap ,looks kike carpet too even :D
exagerate make it higher
i like the charqcter but the body proportions are a bit off
if you 're going for a realistic look i suggest you fix them before continuing

I think that's a good "base coat" of grass. Now you need to add longer straws in there as well. Grass straws are like people - some are young, some are old, some are tall and other are short.

Whoa, that sounded new age-ish, didn't it? =P

You have a nice piece going there nevertheless. =)

drawing grass is very much like drawing hair. basically you add volume with different shades of your grass color. i would define the outline first with only one color then i would go back with diffent shades of green to add detail

maybe i wanna do the colors of the grass a bit different, but just for the shape of the grass...

then must be this one. This is truly the first time ever I posted on CGtalk, used Theron's photo for reference, dare not public, just for practise.and I declare it here that it is not for commercial use, just practise and exchange experiences between CG lovers.it is not finished yet,I'd like to finish it now.give some advise, perhaps.

as for the pic...it looks very nice so far(although i think more detail should be put in the rest of the piece since the cape is so detailed)I think ajay's advise is a better way to draw the grass, find or make grass brushes yourself. As if I do it myself,I chose to use the most simple way:draw one buy one(I don't like some of the photoshop plug-ins,they seems unnature).
first rander with green a little bit blur, just give people a feeling of grass, then draw grass one by one at the spots you want to attract people's interest.(It is really hard, like the rock in the pic above,I also can not do it well)
the last way come to my mind is that you can try to shot the real grass, maybe on the lawn of a park nearby, which fits your pic well, and add to your pic, then change color, hue,or add shade.I often see people doing this when they paint nature(montain, lake and so on)
give it a try, wish you can do it well.
