I am considering getting an lcd for 3d work. I have been looking at the range from viewsonic, but I have two questions. Do they reproduce colours accurately, because i've seen a few lcd's that make their whites look pinkish or yellowish. Will the viewsonic do this? Also is there a really big difference between response times, contrast ratios, and resolutions? I am looking at 2 models at the moment. They are the Viewsonic VP191B, & the VP201B.
The VP191B has:
1280x1024 optimum resolution
700:1 contrast ratio
170 degree viewing angle
16ms response time
brightness: 250cd/m2
PRICE: R6875
The VP201B has:
1600x1200 optimum resolution
400:1 contrast ratio
176 degree viewing angle
16ms response time
brightness: 250cd/m2
PRICE: R12 740
Both have DVI-D & analogue inputs
As you can see the price difference is quite big, so do you think its worth it spending so much more to get 1600x1200 instead of 1280x1024, and a few extra inches of viewing space. The colour reproduction is important, and I will also be doing some animations on it, not major stuff though, and I'll also occassionally play farcry on it. Do you think these are the right kind of monitors to be looking at for my needs?
