Uh...I would maybe upgrade your ram. I don't see a real need to build a new computer next summer from what you have. If your rig isn't working out for you, or is too slow, then maybe, but from what I see, you should be doing fine.

add some ram (at least another 512 mb) and buy a new video card (gf6800 or 6800gt if you've got enough cash). everything else seems to be just fine. you can always buy a faster cpu some time in the future if 2,8ghz is not enough.

What kinds of software are you using and what are you doing with it that would warrant an upgrade?

I'm going to be using Maya, Photoshop, 3dsmax. And some games such as Doom3 and CS Source. I decided to go with Option #3 but I have 300 Watt Power. Do I need more Watt for 6600 GT?
Thanks

I thought the 6600 series was pci express. Don't think it would work on that mobo. I would suggest more ram and a 6800 agp, or a fx5900xt. I have a p4 2.8ghz, 2G ram, 6800 and run hl2 at 1280 x 1024 high settings. I get excellent refresh in XSI and LW no complaints, will be using this machine for some time to come.
forgot about the power supply, it may be a problem I would still recommend the upgrade path rather than buying new machine. Maybe update ram now and add a powers supply and video card when money is available. Try for at least 400W, personally I like the antec trupower line.

don't just buy a new computer for the heck of it... I'm still running on my 1.5ghz with 512 mb ram and all is well... I envy your 2.8ghz... kinda reminds me of that song about it breaking my heart when those rock stars smash a perfectly good guitar...

Actually, the 6600gt AGP just came out a couple weeks ago.
I would suggest boosting the total system RAM to at least a gig, and go grab the 6600gt as well . . .
