View Full Version : [Character] Paratrooper
My new WIP is a World War 2 US paratrooper. It's 1782 tris atm, body and legs are more or less finished, I now focus on the hands. I'm aiming for a ~ 2500 tris limit with all assecoires. Crits please.

Good progression with this model so far, the first thing that caught my eye was the boot however, they appear to be very narrow. The jacket also appears to be a little heavy to me at the moment also looking at this reference (http://www.yojoe.com/archive/actfig/af/af-paratrooper.jpg)you can see that jacket appears much lighter (although the picture is a model it appears to be quite typical of the clothes).
Very nice start good proportions and layout of the character, the face seams well formed too, over all it looks like it needs a few tweaks but is going in the right direction.
Had a little time this evening and added teh hands, I also refined the body and the boots a bit.
Update.

This is coming along really nicely.
The one thing that sticks out at me at this point is the helmet. I think the back of the helmet should come down a little closer to the neck. And the curve from the very subtle 'bill' should kind of make a wave down to the back.
Keep up the good work!

hey!!
you could lose some poly's out of the arms.
or if you keep the poly's then model some more definition into the sleeves. his arms look like sausages at the moment.
his ankles also look a little bit too thin.
you could also model some creases or something into the jacket. it doesn't look like a heavy coat at the minute.
cheers!!
update: around 2100 tris
