I know my way around Maya quite well and have done many rigs but I know there are finer details that I could add.

Which are the best high end DVD's out there for Maya?

Also any pipe line DVD's or books on Maya would be good as well.

Thanks

Maya Techniques ® | The Jason Schleifer Rigging Bundle : I have one of these. Its quite good. But you should be aware that most of the alias training dvds are recorded master class sessions from siggraph. They aren't extremely thorough because its a realtime lecture, and most of the content which you will learn from is in the pdfs in the file cd.

http://www.cgtoolkit.net/ : haven't purchased. can't vouch. but looks very interesting

http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/ : overviews of tools in interesting situations. Comprehensive, but getting kinda old.

Which is the best? Can't say. I only own one :P And if you already know how to rig, I'm not sure how much farther these dvds will be able to take you.

You might also pick up stop staring for some interesting facial rigging stuff. I've seen several copies for $25 bucks at different compUSA stores.

Thanks, These are ones that I have been looking at. I'm sure I will learn something from each as I am an expert rigger in Max and have done some in Maya. There are alot of small tricks that people use in each package to get rigs running faster and clearner so I hope to pick up some of that. I can get what I want now but with some things that I do I'm sure that there are better ways that I'm not aware of at this time.

It can't hurt and someone else is paying for them as well;)

Hey Paul,

definitely check out the Hyper-Real series of DVD's and pickup the Jason Schleifer bundle if you get the chance! These are pretty much staples of any TD's shelf :) Outside of that...just pretty much scower the net for any Maya Rigging/TD stuff (there's not a lot of it out there but there are quite a few gems!).

Swing on over by www.creaturetd.com and say hello (i'm m0bus over there) :) Always lots of info and tips/techniques etc going on there!

P.S. noticed on your site that you live in Brooklin as well...drop me a PM over on the creaturetd boards, I'm no more than about 2 minutes away from you

Very cool, but is this Brooklin Ontario that you live in, if so great. We will have to get together at some point.

I should go by creature TD more often as it is a great site. I'll see if I can find you there.
