View Full Version : Saving painter piece to a CD disc
noelt 12-02-2004, 04:04 PM I'm trying to save my painter files to a CD-RW disc (iMAC G4), but, i'm having problems. Do i have to save the documents to any special format? I'm putting the documents into a file then trying to save the file to a cd but the computer is saying file could not be verified, any suggestions on the best way to save my stuff on to a CD?.......Jin?

Hi,
I have no idea what software you're using to save things to a CD, so I can't say what formats it can handle. Any software I've used to save to a CD has been able to handle all file format I've used so far. That includes, as I can recall:
RIFF
XML
NIB
STK
TIFF
JPG
GIF
ZIP
text editing formats such at .TXT, DOC, Star Office formats
Excel formats
AutoCAD format
Bryce format
... and more that don't come to mind right now
Also single and multiple levels of folders.
When you say "I'm putting the documents into a file then trying to save the file to a cd but the computer is saying file could not be verified....", that's a bit confusing too. How are you putting your "documents" (presumably you mean Painter files) into a file? Do you mean you're putting them into a folder?

Yes , sorry to sound so unclear Jin, i'm puting the Painter file into a folder then attempting to save the folder on a CD. I'm using painter8, iMAC G4 computer, it should be a pretty simple and straight process, that's why i was wondering if maybe i was doing something incorrectly.
I work in Windows so not familiar with Mac terminology but would like to offer a guess (at least to eliminate a possibility). Is if possible that one or more files in the folder are still "opened" (ie, still being claimed by Painter or other program) while you are trying to copy to CD? Under Windows, a variety of disk operations would not be successful if a file is engaged by another program.
