Hi,
possiblility to add some realistic clothes will be in version 2.37. Let have look at:
http://mosebjorn.altervista.org/index.html
But it is already possible to have some "normal" clothes like trausers, t-shirt, etc., but you have to animate it separately.

Are those animations rendered in Blender? If so, where can I find info on that technique?

Those are rendered in a testing build of blender,
in about a week the experimental version of blender will start again, then you'll be able to play with that (or if you are a coder, you can download his patches, download cvs blender, compile and away you go...). It won't be activated in a release till 2.37. (well it is a hidden feature of blender right now, name your object 'soft' then go to the effects panel).
