View Full Version : QUADRO FX1100 VS 6800Gt

Im not to much of a gamer. I just wanted to concentrate on my 3d APP. I'm about to pay $306.00 dollars for QFX1100 at EBAY and Im also have my second thought of purchasing a 6800GT card.....What u think? Any of u have QFX1100 and how is it?

The Qfx1100 is basically the replacement of the Qfx1000, which I had. The 1100 is a slight improvement over the 1000. Currently I own a 6800GT which beats the Qfx1000 at various
3D app benchmarks. C4D works great on the GT, so does Maya.

My Qfx1000 sometimes crashed in C4D, the GT has not. The Qfx1100 is a sure shot 3D app
performer though. I dunno, this is a tough call indeed. Of course, in games the Qfx1100 is like a Geforce 5700 versus the very Oc'able 6800GT....

Yes go for the Qfx1100, if ;

- you're sure the deal ain't a scam and if you haven't found it for less than 300.
- you don't game or don't mind lower framerates/less resolution in games
- your 3D work is truly serious / precision and you work with tough deadlines
- the 3D program you use lists Quadro cards as required

btw. 6800GT's mostly retail for about 399 so if you really can't spend more than 306
the Qfx1100 is the choice.
