View Full Version : Vertex Removal

Hi,

As I've been modeling more, I notice that I delete lotsa loops of edges, which of course leave vertices behind. These vertices only have two edges meeting them rather than four, (I try to use four-sided polys). I don't suppose there's a simple command or script that I missed that will allow me to instantly remove all of the offending vertices, rather than hunting them all down, selecting them, and removing them?

Thank you! :)

well, although it may not be the most efficent technique, what i usually do is select the loop, right click and convert it to the verticies, then go BACK into edge mode (loop still selected, and vertecies still selected also) and then remove loop, go to vertex mode and remove them.

I don't know if this will help much!
You probably already know about it:

i havent tried it myelf but doesnt "Remove Isolated Veretices" work for that? :) I usually do what Largo39 said. first I select the edge loop, then I CTRL+CLICK on the subobject vertex button to select the vertices, then go back to the edge subobject to delete the edge and back to vertex subobject to delete the vertices.

this is a script to mimic a function in lightwave. it is written by grant adam. it removes edges /loops and thier associated vertices it is a fantastic script and i would be lost without it.

The plane belt optimizer script from Grant Adams worked wonderfully!

I'm fairly sure that removing isolated vertices in max only removes vertices not associated with any edges. I appreciate the replies, thank you again. :)
