Did any of you ever created a short realistic looking fur without using Sasquatch? I need to create fur on a giraffe and a horse and wonder if there's another solution than using a fur plug in like Sas or Shave'n'Haircut. I realized that especially on a horse the BDRF shader looks brilliant. Any guesses?

Every answer is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Im pretty sure Ive seen some good results with a velvet type shader.
spin quad had the plugin and thread a while back. that would be a good bet.

thx dude thats it. I didnt see what I thought I remembered, possibly protons giraffe,
done up, with texture weights in a spotted pattern. Anyway thats the effect, should
be alot lighter that sas to deal with.

Good luck, post what you come up with.
