It it worth spending more money on 19" LCD? I want to buy 173P Samsung or 193P. And I'm not sure if it's worth to spend more money. I'm using 17" LCD at work and maybe someone have anything to say about 19". I kno that I'm not getting more work space. Is the quality of picture the same on 19" as on 17" or it's more pixelated.

If you have the opportunity to view a 17" and 19" LCD in person, do that. Basically, the pixels themselves are a bit larger in the 19" - that's about it.

Personally I prefer 17" LCD over a 19" just because the smaller dot size makes things (to my eyes) more focused and sharper. Also, if you want to add a 2nd LCD, 2 17" screens take up less room than 2 19" (you'll have to turn your head more with 2 19" LCDs).

I think that 19" is just stretched 17" so basically it's better to buy 17 or go straight to 21" but it's not solution for me right now :) . Thanks log0n for your advice. Maybe someone else have anything more to say to help me make up my mind.

I've been wanting to scrap my super-radiating dual 20's for newer technology too. Don't forget about resolution! I've been eyeing 19 lcd's also... Seems like 1600x1200 does'nt start at anything below a 19" for some reason... Unless I'm not seeing all the options out there? I use Lightwave which is real week as far as opengl and screen/interface options go... And it looks best at 1280x1024 which i'm kinda prior too because it's closer to a square aspect ratio than the other resolutions. BUT.... I love 1600x1200 or higher if Im doing 2d graphics in say Photoshop because size does'nt neccessarily give you more realestate unless its got more pixels to spread the info onto... So the way I look at it.. Yeah I've used 17" lcd's and love them at 1280x1024 but I have a problem shucking out my HARD earned cash for something that's pretty much limited at the initial point of purchase... Not to mention say 5 years down the road... Like this.. I've bought my dual 20's back in '99 and tons more here at work (IT guy)and they are still delivering resolution options... i.e. - If I bought a new CPU with a new graphics card I could still use my OLD crt's and still not neccassarily be tapping the monitors highest resolution and/or refresh rate...Could you say the same of say a basic 17" lcd?

I'd wait probably approx. 6 more months to get a nice 19" lcd w/ 1600x1200 resolution. They (19 LCD's) are hovering from $550.00 us and up... I'd bet in a short time the 19's will get down below or right around $500.00... I'll NEVER go NON-dual head so I always have to multiply X2... dual will spoil! You think 3d requires major screen. Try a writing a full-bore business solution inside MS Access and be writing code in Visual whatever and you'll see... Say quad head?
