Hey all!

After seeings many brilliant pieces of artwork here, I figured that I'd eventually ask this... What is the best way to light your typical putty shaded models for showcasing non-textured versions, etc...? Theres the main light, the key light and the fill light, I think. And only one of these projects shadows. I was wondering if anyone could run me through a way to setup this sort of thing. My GI imitations arent that good and finalrender is a WIP for me as it ain't getting me anywhere fast so far. If you prefer not to give any of your secrets away, could you point me to any tutorials for this sort of thing?

Thanks a million!

I wrote this on the 3 point lighting setup and some of the basic shadow map controls.

That was great, man! Signed yer guestbook ;)
Btw, I'm curious about one thing... How come in your example scene, there is only a small plane for the floor, but when you render, shadows project as far as they want, as if the plane covered all of the 3D space?

That's the render multiplier scale parameter of a plane primitive

Reality3D's go it; I just hiked the render multiplier. Glad you liked the tutorial. ;)
