gasmask 12-01-2004, 01:16 AM hey guys, im not sure if this would be better to post in textures section but basically im modeling this bonsai tree and i wonder what would be the best way to do the foliage, i want to keep it somewhat realisic but im not sure, i thought of opacity maps but that might look tacky as its a higher poly scene so does anyone have any thoughts or ideas, it would sure help alot, thanks alot you guys!

Nah, skip opacity masks. Just model a few leaves, a few branches, and attach them to the main trunk...
Well, lookie here: http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/tree/tree1.asp
Could try different ways of attaching them though, try magnetic script http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=191712
