good day all

i have just started using Maya, and i find modelling is alright, but i cannot understand how to make the photorealistic textures like i see in most architecture images (from gallery and other places). i have browse this forum.. and see many links for uv but none really for buildings and architecture. does anyone here do especially architecture modelling? have you got any tips on how you learn this?

i have also go to learning-maya but also not such a tutorial with details. mostly all its just the basics or only very general and many things i do not understand (like most of the making-ofs, only have one two paragraph about the texturing). this is become a problem for me as i cannot proceed very far in maya without texturing.

if anyone can give me any help i will truly be grateful. sorry if my english isn't too good. :D

No it's not a difficult question. It's just that if you didn't manage to find any, then there probably just aren't any out there.

At any rate, lighting is more important for realism. Architectural rendering in particular is often done with very basic textures, and relies almost entirely on its shading and lighting for realism.
