Jhonus 08-27-2002, 11:57 PM Okay I need some assitance here.:surprised
Whats the easiest, least time consuming, least stressful way of transferring animation from one character to another?
The two skeletons are identical.
Thanks

Clips in the Trax editor.

are there any other methods? or is trax editor truely the best way?
i tried making a character set for each character, then made a clip of the animation of the first character, copied it to the second character. his leg flew into space... not the result wanted.
Also, is it possible to easily add new keys to a clip?

If you have a character set you can simply copy the keys and paste them (though the rigging has to be the same).
Another method is the anim Import/Export plugin but I wouldn't recomend it (it sucks, it doesn't keep your tangents and weights).
I usually copy the curves in the Graph Editor (not the fastest way but it's the best method, it will copy the exact tangents weights/editing).

yeah, that sounds like a logical plan. character sets are quite handy... i've never used them b4.

Even the trax editor needs character sets to work in a predictable way. If you don't have character sets the trax editor will create them for you, but it's better to create them manualy, then you know what you add to the set...:airguitar
