Could you possibly tell us what your story is about? From what I can tell from your sketches, especially by the poses of the character holding the other, is it a love drama? I like how vampiric the characters look =)

I had a love and betrayal theme going in my head. I don't really have a story but I was thinking of 2 alien races are at war and the male and the female subjects in my picure will come together despite each other's race's differences towards each other. The female will have a tear coming down her face with a hopeful type emotion by being with the person she loves even though her people are at war.

The male on the other hand, will have a devilish grin and unfaithful look on his face.

I want to leave the veiwer with the question of will they have a happy relationship or not.

Thanks a lot YeeWu.

Ah, I see. I like how you're letting the viewer create the story. The devilish grin on the male's face is well done, and I can definitely see what you're trying to do. By hopeful, does that also include sadness in her people fighting? Or she's hopeful/glad to be with her love?

I know it's just a preliminary sketch, but if I may comment about the girl's expression, if sadness is included, perhaps it might help her look more sad if you brought the lower eyelids up and bring the corners of her lips down. Right now, I get the impression that she's looking at something far away.

Good luck with the sketches, and I hope to see more! :)

bingo! I just thought about the female's eyes also. Yeah I wanted her to stare out into the distance and have that daydreaming look in her eyes.

By hopeful meaning that maybe her people can see that the 2 alien races really can get along with each other and that the war can end. I think that I should make the female a queen or princess.

Hopefully a background image for this will appear in my head.
Maybe I should have an epic war going on in the background.

I also want to know how come I keep double posting the same image when I uploaded 2 different images but they both get replaced by my latest image?

YOur concepts look interesting, but I am wondering how you are going to make it "grand"? Perhaps above a city or in space above an entire civilization? Great work so far!

I was thinking about adding a battle scene between the 2 alien races in some clouds or outer space. And I almost forgot about the grand part. Thanks for reminding me. Now I will have to re-think my compostion. I will try and post another composition sketch soon with some ship designs.

hi, some clean looking sketches! very refreshing from the muddles I create sometimes. I think you are correct to begin with the charcaters, as they often can determine your story for you. But I suspect they probably do have to be part of an overall vista of some sort, unless you cna think of a way of encapsulating epic in a couple of figures. It's possible - some people are trying it.
