I am working on a low poly charchter and i wish to see my textures in the viewport without any shading on them.

I figured out that if i set the light to ambient only, it doesnt cast shadows when i render, but it still shows the shadows in the perspective viewport while previewing the model in shaded mode.

All those stupid shadows in the viewport make it hard to see what the texture really looks like unless i render.
:annoyed:

Is there anyway I can turn the shadows off????

:surprised :curious:

Make your material(s) 100% self-illuminated. That'll get rid of any shading in the viewports as well as in renders.

That is a very cool, damn handy trick. I often have a sample material with 100% SIllumination set on a checkered material so I can check UVW mapping quickly.
