Hi all!

I have just completed my latest animation, after 10 months the 16000+ frames are finally ready, this animation took 2 months to render in 3d studio max (!), the sound is also taken great care of; I used more layers than Disney, and the entire project weights at a massive 1.1 GB in *.max files

Here are some snaps taken DIREKTLY from the animation:

The entire animation is 9 min. long, is compressed with DIVX, and can be grabbed here (61mb):

(right-click the "HER" link and choose "save as")

For those of you who want a smaller version, it can be grabbed here, but the link I sometimes unstable tho'..:

I hope that you will watch it, and perhaps leave a comment or two.

(Be gentle, I am new to all this)

Thanks!

hey downloaded it , took a while though ,
I think it looks great, although it seemed rather dark , but i geuss that fits the story.

Your composition and camera moves i really enjoyed,
Good work

But why werent the Guys textured at all ? or where they? They just looked straight grey. I think they would look amazing with like the Terminator robot type of texture/chrome look

Anyways
Good job

i found it a little long winded though and thought the character animation was a bit weak,,,,,,but hey what do i know.....

nice work anyhow

It looks very intresting from the images, I will try and download it at some point. But 61Mb on a 56K would put many people off :hmm: it would be nice to have a second copy compressed down to about 15Mb for the modem army

First off, good job. I noticed that it was 9 min when I first opened it and didn't plan on watching it all the way unless it kept my interest.

Since the premise was rather dark I think the atmosphere worked well, however I also would have liked to see the main robots textured somehow or with some type of material instead of just a flat grey.

I also liked some of the camera moves, that matrix-like move always gets me when used correctly. The sound worked well too.

While it wasnt a perfect animated short for a couple reasons, I did enjoy it and watched it from start to finish. Although I was expecting the spirit (or whatever was in the sarcophagus) to have an effect on the dead robot when it circled him at the end.

All in all, good solid job and well put together.

Hi

Thanks for the nice words..

You all seem to mention the lack of textures, well, you’re right, there aren't many, and this was a decision made early on in the development of this "movie". As for the animation..what can I say; I am working on it! :)

For those of you who want a smaller version, it can be grabbed here, but the link I sometimes unstable tho'..:

Excellent work...especially if you did it all on your own!

Well done! I enjoyed watching it.

Thanks for the smaller link, before I checked back I had already downloaded the large version, but it will be useful for other people.

I agree it would look nicer with some textures on the robots even a simple chrome although a nice camouflage texture would be good. Other than that its really great, I love the camera action when the guns are being fired in particular.

Great animation and nice to see a full length production with a full story. I can see why it look so long.

Well done.

zeio, did you not watch past the credits then? the spirit does affect the dead robot in the very end of the film, after the credits.

i enjoyed this, good job. the aliens soundtrack is always a good choice too btw :)
