WOW! It looks exactly like a toy i have! The only problem i can see is in the first pic...the muscles next to his abs and under his pecs(the back muscles?) stick out ALOT

other than that i love it!

Fantastic wire....wish i could cut detail like that at whim....how did you do the bat on his chest.? Carry on the good work and make alitle scene for him.

Nice work so far. I would lengthen the neck out a little bit more. He is looking a little compressed.

The forearms are a little on the thick side. I would size it down a little.

I know you are probably working on it, but in case you aren't, I would work on the seam that is going down the middle of his cape. It looks like you are losing tangency.

Overall. Good work

PS: I think what you did to the Bat-symbol is pretty slick. Very sleek looking

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. I appreciate them.

ajay1589- yea, those back muscles are exaggerated a little

R1PPER- For the bat symbol, i made a spline and then used shape merge in max to project the shape onto the mesh, then cleaned it up after that.

metroeast- good call on the neck. I agree, it needs to be longer. and the cape right now is just mirrored over, thats why the seam shows.

Thanks again guys, i'll post more when i get it done.

Here's an update shot with a rotation view, and wires. I think i'm happy with the model at this point, I'm gonna move on to texturing in the next few days.

Nice job on the Dark Knight! My only real crit is that the folds on the back of the cape are too perfect. Folds should be more uneven and not be quite so "sharp" at the bottom in my opinion.

There are 3 things that cross my mind when i look at this model:
1. The eyes look a little too friendly for my taste ( but that's a personal opinion )
2. The Ribcage ( or the path the ribs move along ) looks kinda strange, either it's a problem with the armor or with the anatomy.
3. Compared to the detail of the whole model the lower arms look kinds plain and the wrist too thin.
Badass lookin' model! :°

Are you trying to go for the Batman Begins looK?

I agree with monolith about the ribcage, I think it should be wider at the top and come down in more of a curve. The size of the abs could also decrease slightly towards the bottom.
Your muscle definition however is really fantastic. Can you suggest any references/tutorials that might help someone else trying to work on their muscle modelling skills? Great looking model, cant wait to see him textured.

Thanks for the crits guys.

webhead- i agree, i made them sharp on purpose for more of a stylized look. hopefully i didn't got too far.

Monolith - thanks, yea, the whole face right now seems too nice. probably most of the expressions are going to be angry ones. the lower arms are quite symplistic, i might think about going back and adding some detail there. Thanks for the great suggestions!

Lord3d2 - I'm actually modeling it off a sculpture some friends at work made

MrGrinch- I recommend taking a look at Dynamic anatomy by Hogarth, it has a lot of extreme muscle ref that i really enjoy

I think his forearms are still too large, his face could be a lil more refined. But ur model still very cool, I like Comics like Batman, this one looks great, nice job after all ;)
