View Full Version : Attaching a rubber mask to a face?
Catfish 08-27-2002, 11:51 AM Imagine the rubber seal around a diving mask. How would you model that so it gives a snug fit onto the wearer's face, without it looking like it disappears into the face at any point?
Any suggestions?

Hey Catfish,
I'm not sure what program your using.... but..... in Maya, what you could do is make the back of the hard surface part of the mask live and trace a curve for where the seal will go, then make the divers face live and draw an outline for it will go there. You should be able to use these 2 curves for guides or to creare a loft between them.
Take care,

Oooh - I didn't try Live before, since I didn't think you could snap curve points to a polygon surface - trying it out now, I see you can.
I'll give that a try, see what happens.
