View Full Version : Wacom: woops all gone!
Kanga 11-26-2004, 01:05 AM Hi!
Messia Studio2
There is plenty of documentation on this so if this is not answered I wont be surprised:).
Went to the custom menue and under key commands double clicked input tablet and even started the app up again,.... wheeeee everything went bannanas.
Mouse mode works fine except the curser shunts, if you go to the boarders of the app you cant get back to the other side.
This is a pretty cheap wacom I will admit (wacom by brand). Usually there is a double action clicker and this only has single action. Since I read that there is driver support in Messiah2 and the command under custom proves it, can anyone recommend a model that works well with this great software?
Thanx

I'm surprised...I work with a rather old wacom (before intuos and the fancy pen grip) and it works fine....that said, it has gone super crazy on me a few times.....as if expceting a mouse input.....
Same here, I use messiah with a cheap Wacom Graphire A6, in mouse mode, and it works just fine. Maybe your Wacom has a problem...?

Thanx guys!
Strange the cheapie works on 10 other apps,.... maybe I should see if there is a driver update from Wacom.

I´m a tablet-only user since a couple of months, using IntousII in penMode(=very nice) without any trouble (expept I would like a select only-mode, I often select and move/rotate..).
using driver 478-6 ...

Hey there,
I'm looking around for a wacom tablet, but which one do i gotta choose?
The main thing i wanna do with it is art like this: painting/drawing.
is the Volito good enough or do i gotta buy the graphire3 A6 or just an other one?
Thank's already..:)
I never used the Volito, but knowing that it is a low end tablet, as is the Graphire, meaning that they have less resolution, I'd go for the Intuos series if you intend to do serious drawing and painting. A Intuos A5 is a good choice for most applications IMO.

The one thing I hate is small tablets. A6 is rather weird if you have a big monitor or even two of them. At some point, the translation in size becomes a bit tedious (at least for me).
I use an ages old serial 12" x 12" UD Wacom that still works flawless.
Be sure to give it a try somewhere before you buy it. Your personal "feeling" should make the deal.
I don't know the newer tablets so I can't help with the flavors.

Thank you guys!
Ill check around and i will look for a Intuos! (maks). And Thomas i will check what i like personaly.
Well, I think there is a golden mid :) While the A6 is definately too small and has not enough definition for serious painting ( I have one ;), A5 is the perfect size for me, everything above makes me loose too much time by going from one end of the tablet to the other ;) For serious painters A4 and above might be just fine though, but you better have some fortune under your mattress :)

Yes, that is why I advised to test it out personally :)
My wacom is the oldest piece of hardware I still use (~8 years or more) so the fortune I spent at that time was rather well invested. But that is always a personal preference.
I just wanted to point out that A6 is veeeeeery small :)
And A4 isn't that big if it spans over two 22" monitors ;)
Anyway, just my 2 cents
