CGTalk - Anyone on a Mac?

Does anyone have experience using AE on the Mac platform (OS X)?

Are there any compatibility issues compared to PC's?

Is it possible to use still photos only and create a "movie" in AE?

Can AE be used as a standalone application?

4) huh? of course. ae is not any kind of a plugin. it's an application.

I'm currently using AE 6.5 on my Powerbook using OS X, and I use it at home quite often on my system with windows XP and have no issues working on projects and sharing between both systems.

To make 'movies' from 'still images' you can just import the still frames as a sequence assuming they are in sequence and then add them to a composition and render out a movie by selecting your output in the render queue.

As to your other questions they were answered above.
