Here is the problem :

http://dimitri.safarikas.com/stripes.jpg

I'm trying to do some render to texture with a skylight and some low sampling light tracer (about 20) to simulate some dirt.

I work in max 5. I've tried everything (re-modeling, stl checks, reset xforms, high sampling for the light tracer... ) nothing worked... Those stripes are coming again and again (they just change place sometimes when i move the object :s)

If you have any solution for me, i would reaaaaly appreciate...

It looks like overlapping geometry to me. If you've mapped both sides of the object one on top of the other, then this sort of thing happens as it tries to render both sides. Try detaching one of the sides of the object temporarily while you render the texture.

Nope... Just tried your tip but nothing to do...

I've done some tests to see where it could come from.

When I "redo" the same object from scratch in same file, it does exactly the same problem, but when i create this object in a new file, there's no problem at all... It's unbelievable !

Could it be corrupted geometry that corrupts the file that encloses it ?

So frustrating...
