love your work.
always been a big fan of both wood and mignola too.
Infact i was so inspired i sat down and spent 2-3 hours tonight (firday fricken night!) learning ps brush engine. Id never built a custom brush before (tho i had managed to import a couple of enayla's! haha).
So i built two brushes i have grown quite fond of already and did my first ever sketch in the style. DId it without actually opening up an image to look at for style and it did take me about 20 mins!! (not that speedy but hey im breaking new ground :P)
No colour or anything but i learnt heaps and Dub , i thank you for the inspiration :)

what r ya talkin bout? its awesome man. i really like the loose style it gives the pic more personality, yes you could draw it realistic and stuff but i think its harder to express something with a few strokes than a fully overdid picture that looks like a photo. reduce to the max, is kinda my drawing/designing philosophy

Great textures, Vahn! Maybe not having the largest one smack in the middle would help? Stagger them a little... I really like the colors though and the textures rock, particularly in the far left rock outcrop.


Here's my entry for today's DSG- 'The Day of the Dragon Slayer'. It's 15 mins, so I did a 15 min one, then put another 30 mins into it.....it's a little dragon dead in the grass. :cry:

Most recent three. Done during the last couple of weeks. I'll have to focus only a few details to speed the process. Speaking of focus, the last image would of benefited use the rule of thirds. Also, in general I feel that I over saturate my colours... Next batch I'll work harder on using different brushshapes for textures, and not the texture attribute in ps. Any other thoughts?

Audit> working negatively a lot of the time, laying in blocks of colour then erasing with a hard edged, size jitter brush. Hardly revolutionary but quite a fun way of working:).
