Speed paints

They dont have explicit 'realist' content, but graphically, I think they are pretty solid - what do you think?

Not as if I hadn't said it before, but I always get stuck when I see your abstracts. It's like some sort of visual glue my eyes cling to.

And I actually don't even try to figure them out or anything.

They're a bit like minimalist modern classical music, maybe Arvo Pärt-like, though they're somewhat too saturated for that analogy - but they share that hypnotical quality of music, in general.
I am not a synaesthet or something - I just compare things to music very often...

Also, your black and white figure art in this thread is very uncompromising and exciting.

Vahn - if I had never clicked the link to this thread to watch all the wonderful stuff that's happening in here I would have never known that all the exciting paintings you did for the dsg were created with a mouse....and you only recently got your tablet!?!?

Some people can paint with a wet brick on dust while I couldn't even make use of an intuos3 properly... yet:twisted:

Hi everybody, I've been lurking on these forums for a long, long time now and finally decided to post something..:blush:

About me - no artistic background what so ever and well over 10 years since me and my pencil were getting along :shrug: ..
Used to love drawing back when I was a kid, but It's been quite a while I guess..
However, I painted that in Artrage in an hour and a half (just a wild guess here, kinda lost track of time) and called it "Down by the water's edge", after the eponimous song of Jude Johnstone(this lady has a remarkable voice).
