07-04-2005, 08:55 AM
Vyse_soa: yes, the second one is better!
You wrote: "wish I have drawn it..." but have you analyzed the filter version already?!
If you would like to improve, use only round big brushes and limit your color pallette to several hues/ values. Something like: 1 for highlights, 1 for directly lighted areas, 1 for no lighted areas and 1 for core shadows. Do not use any blending just paint and color pick your stated values - this cloud be the right way on you route to better imgs...
Just my 2 cents...
P.S. If I´ll have a time I post a simple and quick example what I meant.
Cheers

Here's something I put together while my laundry was finishing.
I was working on my crappy Pi-500 aiptek/optoma tablet monitor. It has no Macintosh support, so there's no click or pressure senstivity (I have to press a button on my mouse when I want to make a line) so please cut me some slack.
There's more that I want to add, and I'll repost when I finish

It's the first thing I've painted since my hard drive took a nosedive. It's hard to get back to the inspiration. A speedy painting, stopping before the refining, was just what I needed. This is the only place I could think to post it.
Not sure how long it took. It's all adobe photoshop though. I hope it's not too big, but I'd hate to shrink it further.
Wonderful work everyone, by the way. I spend a lot of time lurking in here.

hey!
Im pretty new to this but I would like to share my latest draw.
It took me about 5 hours the outline and then 20 minutes the shading (wich is not very good)
I would like to know if you have some advice for a begginer like me.
Should I start real coloring?
Should I forgget the outlines work and go for the real deal, blocking shapes of light?
http://img332.imageshack.us/img332/9383/paova22cv.jpg
Thanks.

Goro your sketches are really nice. I think you improved very much. Your color work was great since i first saw your work, but these new sketches show that you made a jump, you manage to capture so many different and difficult poses, that is just a pleasure to look at them.

I dont know why I wrote this, but I thought I had. and I dont know what are the connections between anything here. I felt like writing them and I did.
if you feel to explain, If you feel therapy, do something and tell me.
I have to go... if I dont', they will suck me in ..... it's my choice, but they left me no choice.
I agree with them, because I must.... I follow them, because they are behind me.
I can ask questions, but I have to accept the answers.... I cant complain, because they dont have
it in dictionary.
if you are at the same situation.... dont do what I have done, but follow me.
farewell my friends.....I cant find my self.....

Thanx Goro! This was fantastic, how about the size? U 've made incredible details on the house up on the hill. And the technik for the rocks was quite simple but the result is very nice! Keep posting your pictures and videos man!

havent done anything digital for couple years now, got to remember how to use that wacom thingy all over again. and bloody hell there're way too many features now they have in ps7 (my last is ps5)!. so hope u don't mind me joining the crowd?

I did this in about 30 minutes, a chat-friend of mine asked me to paint a picture of what I thought she might look like. This is the conceptual impression I had of her based on our chats.

Interesting, libor how could you study anatomy without reference?
Libor
08-26-2005, 05:19 PM
commodore: maybe the words "anatomy study" are a bit misleading, but its something like:
"Show me what have you already learnt about body by doing a picture clearly from head."
I do make also other pieces with refer of course but this one nope (it lacks a lot of good anatomy namely her back is screwed:rolleyes: )
Hope this make some sense:D
Cheers!

I was going to take a shot at answering that one for you Libor, but you beat me to it and used your own words! Well played.
Aye, trying to piece together what you know about the human body without actually looking at reference pieces has purpose. It's a sort of test to see how well you understand and what you have learned about anatomy. Granted for most of us it's probably better for learning sake to draw for more reference than not, but it's good to flex your knowledge here and there.
I really love the speed paintings I'm seeing, keep it up everyone! I plan to join in soon enough.
great work guys!
