Not speedy, not a really finished piece and not wip either anymore... so here:
http://koti.mbnet.fi/affected/tram.jpg
General scene and light struck me as interesting as the tram arrived yesterday, so I memorized as much as I could before getting on and painted it today. couple of photo references used to remind myself of details on the tram. About 5 hours probably. I tend to think and twiddle too much, if I could just work purposefully I'd be a lot faster... :\

patience, commodore. to change brush size, use the bracket keys. as for your sketch, i'll make a few quick comments. the composition could use work. everything pretty much runs down the center, and everything is just about the same on both sides. pulling focal points away from the center of the image as well as constructing asymmetrical forms would help the piece a lot. also, it feel flat because of lack of contrast, and detail. you've got a nice thing going there, it just needs more to look at. i think that's enough for now. great start--keep it up!
commodore
05-15-2005, 10:21 AM
Thank you! But what are bracket keys?
ceenda
05-15-2005, 10:27 AM
Left bracket key should have eihter a { or a [ on it. } and ] for the right one.

Did a quick one while my girlfriend was sleeping, but she moved after I was done with the initial pencil sketch, so I kind of winged it a little with the colors. I really need to be bolder with the saturation, though. I tend to end up with rather undersaturated results before I use Levels to touch up.

Hi all, I'd like to share a thought on photoshop's median filter...
I did this piece following a tutorial by Ron Lemen... then I thought: why not trying to blend colours with the median filter ? I think it can be a nice shortcut... you just need to repaint in details... let me know what you think and if you have suggestions.
the initial image:

Hi, long time no see! :D I made this one in artrage and approx. 20 min. I was bored. :) I sorta like how it turned out... I didn't realize I drew a heart there until a friend of mine pointed it out! I think it made everything more powerful for me because it was a hidden message for me. :) Know what I'm saying? Anyways, I'll stop rumbling on. :P Enjoy!
