Hello,

I was wandering what is a good method of texturing a high resolution character.

I have modelled a character and have applied a basic procedural skin texture to them.
The skin texture I have used is like the one in the micheal roger tutorial available at:
http://67.15.36.49/ffa/tutorials/ma...procedural1.asp (http://67.15.36.49/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc_p2/texture_skin_procedural1.asp)

How would I then apply bitmaps to the model for details such as lips, eyebrows ;makeup etc?

I would like to blend a procedural texture with bitmaps so that I can gain the advantages of both worlds:)

Is this even the right way to go about doing this?

help much appreciatted:)

you can overlay bitmaps with alpha channels for opacity using composite material, your base material would be the procedural skin texture while the overlaying materials would be uses for lips, eyebrows, etc
