Create textures on photoshop

I can't really think of alot of books that would be overly geared towards photoshop in terms of painting textures.....all the books I read and have browsed are more theory based when it comes to textures....since it's based on your skills and not what you know...ya know? I don't know how well you know photoshop, but one thing I would learn is how the blending modes work and what each one does....those work wonders for creating layers of texture with good depth to them.........reply and say if you're a beginner or not and I may be able to give you some good tips, or ask some specific question too.
