My own camera, artbooks and google!:D
A camera is the best option. Photograb whatever you want to reference and go for it!

* google pics
* stock photo agencies
* my digital camera
Note: never ever directly copy someone else's photos. That is illegal.
For online reference: Google Image Search is handy, but doesn't find it all since you're basically searching by image and/or folder names. Depending on what you're looking for, a general web search for galleries of that type might turn up some good results, like "rainforest gallery" or whatever. Wetcanvas www.wetcanvas.com (http://www.wetcanvas.com) has a pretty good, varied image library supplied by its members.

Any tips on where to find reference pics for interesting portraits? My process of learning PS currently includes attempts to draw portraits but I'm having a hard time finding good reference (photos with interesting faces, nice lighting etc.). Don't know what to search google for. Celebrities are of course easy to find, but normal people?

I have an account at istockphoto.com and you can get some pretty nice stock photos quite reasonably.

@quadrille
Put a mirror next to your monitor. Painting from life will teach you more than painting from photos.
