hi,all
trapecode particle for AE can produce 3d particles,by contrast, combustion particle only produce 2d particles(discreet inferno can produce 3d particles).is it right?

hi,

I dont know about FFI, but Combustion only produces 2D particles, based on Particle Illusion's V2 particle engine. Particle Illusion v3 (a stand-alone particle generator) is still 2D, but can produce some stunning effects that can be made to look 3D simply by changing scale and using masks, and blockers etc to go behind and between objects. Previewing is virtually realtime, and rendering is lightning fast. Then simply comp your output in combustion if required. There are literally hundreds of different emitters you can download from the site, a new library being released for free, every month, great support normally direct from the program's writer, and plenty of other support out there.

Check it out at www.wondertouch.com (http://www.wondertouch.com/)

There are also various plugins that will export various other 2D and 3D applications motion paths/tracking data to particle illusion, including tracking data from Combustion, (Al Street's is one) enabling you to track an object (a null for example) and attach an emitter exactly to its motion path within PI3

Alternatively, use a 3D application for your particles.

Shaun

ps - I dont work for them, but I do have both Combustion and PI3 and recommend them both highly.
