These creases are normal when 5 subpatches are sharing one point. But don't worry about that, it's an OpenGL thing, it should not show up in the render.

To make sure that in rendering the seams don't show up, you have to:
1. Go to the 'Render' > 'Surfaces' tab.
2. Select your head model in the list.
3. Below the list, there should be now a tab 'Object'. From the drop down list 'Render Geometry' choose 'Pre-Generated Polygons' instead of '(Default)'.
4. Enter the subdivision level in the line below under 'Sub Level'. This is necessary as now the settings for MetaNurbs are no langer valid.
This should give you now a render without seams. This feature is actually rather hidden in the docs, you can find it in the 'What's New' section, so it took me a while to find it myself.
