MM_Ghost_3D 11-23-2004, 12:15 AM I've done A LOT of tutorials and want to create something on my own...but what? Can somone make a project for me (modelling only please!) that I can model? Thanks!

- Get a dart.
- Blindfold yourself.
- Throw the dart somewhere.
The first thing it hits is yours to model.
Be careful with throwing at family members though because people are tough to model. ;)
What I'm saying is that you should practice your imagination instead of relying on other people to tell you what to do. Pick something, anything, if you don't know what to model. If it's nice to model then that's OK, if not then some other idea will pop up. Read a book, watch TV, inspiration.

Mind you on the flip side of that, it is an interesting effort to model something someone else suggests, because you may well not have freedom over that in a company... there is no call for fluffy bunnies in doom4 for example :)
And, I for one, am aware that I like to model the same things...
There is usually some contest or other running around CGTalk anyhow, go through those, and perhaps you'll see something that sparks your interest :)

Like Rens Heeren said, just model ANYTHING! That's the whole point. Model what you want to model.:D
Even if you think it's difficult to model something, just do it anyway. Get critique, and model it again!

just an idea, nothing set up yet. But you're not the only one in this situation. Let's discuss some ideas at:

Create a demo reel with your best finished models and start applicating for a job or for a collaborative movie project to join.
