What is supposed to look like grass is maya FUR and the tree is made by NURBS. Why do I get this edge around the tree? The tree and the grass is rendered in one go, no layers or any advanced stuff.

Well, I didn't get much response to that one.


I created a simple scene with a nurbsplane wich I aplied FUR to and then I placed a nurbs sphere infront of the plane. See the anoying pixels around the spere... It looks like it has been a sloppy compositing, though it's all rendered in one pass.

check in the render global attribute of your fur you got some attribute for that dont remember the name of the attribute...

Try this:

Select the render camera. open the AE for the camera shape node. In the output settings, turn on depth and change it from Closest Visible depth to Furthest.

this should do the trick. Otherwise, you may have to do a bit of compositing.
