Hi there,
[edit: I'll soon abandon this thread, and go over to the 3d modelling. Might try doing it 3ds as well as Maya. If you have any tips as on the design please be quick! Thankee!]
This is my first post to you people. I made these sketches with painter classic. My intention is to soon start the modelling process, and at the same time learn Maya. If all goes well, she'll be eventualy animated in a 2-5 min flick. She is not in color, because I simply don't know how to do that, I'll be trying it soon though. I taught myself just about everything, so it's the thought that counts in my case.

I can't wait to here the critique, I sort of think they're finished. When in doubt pull the red string... saves on ammo... Hah hah, kiddin'.
I intend to follow Stahlbergs tut on character modelling and rigging. I was also thinking about going the nurbs direction, but I wonder what would happen multiressing the model.

Feel free to comment, and thanks for yer time.
PS:these are "fixed" hotlinks, just in case you're wondering...

You'd be better off using url tags instead of img tags, because there is a hotlinking problem. I see two red "redrival" images. I needed to rightclick, bring up properties, copy the url, paste it in a new window and refresh a couple of times before I could see the sketches - and most people will not bother with that.

Crits:
Her chin looks very weak in the sideview, but rather strong and masculine in the front view. If it was me, I'd go for a somewhat more pointed chin. The ears look small and positioned unusually high up. But then again, it is not a human. ;) Do the facial features line up between the images? The two pictures kinda look like two different people, but that may just be me...

Apart from that, they are very nice drawings. Good luck with the modelling! =)

Hi Sunbane,

Thanks for the info, worked fine in my browser. I wouldn't have noticed, but I think I fixed it.
As to the feedback, thanks, and they do line up quite exactly. I'll show a link for it.
(They're pretty big so...)

this one has the big chin.

here it is without guidelines

<hey anybody, do these links actually do anything>

I first made the front from a 2cm thumbnail, and then I mocked something up from another thumbnail I intially scratched out. A total of 2 hours I think, didn't really work up/out the detail, but I think they represent the idea of her.
The way I look at it is that the front is an overexposed kinda of sketch and the right one a normally exposed one, but still it's misleading. The left side doesn't have any eyelashes or such, that might be a thing too.
Do you think the chin is ugly? I see it as a round/cylindrical chin in the model eventually, that would take away the chisel effect. But I'm unsure.
I like the ears I made, I think I will keep them. The're going to move and point like on an animal.
Check back in a few weeks and I'll have more, either 2d or 3d, depends on schoolwork.:scream:
<wow, look at all that text man, I'm outta here.>

Blast!!! I know I can see them, IE 6 + win XP sp2. Using adsl in europe though, that could be it. I don't know webcoding, I'll have someone check.
What about right-click and then "Save Target As" or "Open in new window".

They said it functioned as an ftp portal too, >#$&*!!!
