Hi all

I was wondering, i'm trying to model a slanted belt but it intersects with my model, what would you suggest? a modifier simcloth or what, it should be a leather belt.

Also should i model it as a seperate obgect or detach a piece from the top of the pants?

any clues would be cool thanx.

Here are some solutions that you could try...
1. Build your shape and use a modifier to conform it to the area where it is supposed to be applied to.
2. Build your shape from a new object and then manually manipulate it until it fits.
3. Select the faces where the belt will go, detach them (its your choice if you want to do it as a clone or not, all depends on your model), extrude the faces on this detached object and then fix things up a bit, and voila.
4. Use some 3rd party resource that you probably do not need to use.

Hey Fozzie

Thanx for hints, i was wondering if it would be at all possible for you to expand on the modifier one as i haven't used any as of yet and think it would be the best way as i've tried the other but with little joy.

thanx in advance

Basicly I meant any 3rd party plugin that could perform the cloth action that you saught, some people swear by plugins like SimCloth or ClothReyes for example. I wish I could give you a suggestion on how to use these plugins but truth be told I don't typicly use them (I ususually use Method 3 to build my clothing and accessories).
