Welcome to the cgtalk sketch group.

We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.

These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.

Good luck

-Roberto

With all respect guys, I think we need more interesting topics, less general. "thats when everything went down hill" can be anything, so if we can do anything why do we choose a topic, get me? so why not make it a free sketch forum then!

I dont like this topic :shrug:ey! you suggested it! hehehe

I don't fully understand the meaning, is it something like "That's when everything went incredibly wrong"??

"thats when everything went down hill" can be anything, so if we can do anything It's up to you to come up with a really, really good and original interpretation. See that as your quest and then it doesn't have to be that general..............

Welcome to the board! Nice first sketch - very funny!

elmasfeo - yes that is a good interpretation. Kind of like...things were going along just fine, and then...everything started to go wrong from there.

Alice - I love it! Good one!

stunner- I still work with painter 6, and mostly use the "cover brush" from 5.5. I am not sure what brush would be most like it in the newer versions. I do most of my blending with the pallette knife. I know ryan church has the 5.5 brushes up on his site for download. the real key is just spending a lot of time in painter just testing what works for you.

Now this is just silly. And as soon as I had finished I remembered an old Bill Cosby comedy routine that would have made for a good picture:
Cosby, as a kid, had gotten together with his friends to steal all the wheels off all the baby buggies in the city. They used the wheels to make themselves go-carts. In the end, the're all lined up for a race at the top of the steepest hill. They push off, and as they near the bottom of the hill they all see a line of cop cars waiting to arrest them for stealing the buggy wheels. Sorry, alll you get is this. :P About 1/2 hour.

I remember that Cosby sketch, and they all made up their own music for their go-carts and they would hum or shout their music as they went! :)

That's the one! I love those old routines. My wife keeps referring to one where Bill (as a kid) would stay up late to watch horror movies. He'd get so paranoid that he'd boobytrap the living room so the monsters couldn't get him. "Monsters can't get by smoke, fire and jello."
Of course, his dad smells the smoke, panics when he sees the fire and slips on the jello. :applause:

hahahaha .... that's one of my favs too...."Chicken Heart"...and don't forget the imaginary snakes his mother placed around his bed so he wouldn't get out of bed while they were gone!
