Hi. I have a school assignment to shoot a product in a studio. I looked for reference and really like this Absolute ads and decided to recreate something that looks like it.

http://solo.design.ru/pd/absolut.jpg

My guess is that, there is no shadow on the background so the key light maybe shining from the back through a big diffuse, making that circle shape on the background. With 2 extra lights shinging 45 degree from the side hitting the top part of the bottle to make the 2 hot spots up there. The bottle is also reflecting black around it's shape so on the side should all be cover with black.

Any tips or corrections appreciate. Thanks.

I think it's almost the right lighting design. But for the white circle in the buck I suggest to make it just by a simple texture map, You wont need the extra time of rendering while you just one cirle on a wall and it's clear that that light is not contributing in lighting the bottle.

For the overall lighting I think that the reference is too flat in my opinion. Maybe the designer wanted that but it's not attractive IMHO. I think better to use some reflections( reflection map or raytraced ) to make clear the shape of the glass.

I hope you post your rendering so we could see the progress and eventualy read comment s about it.

Good luck.
