Great image!! I love the brush strokes.
I think it's cool how you echoed the eighteenth century Neoclassicist master Jacques Louis David's Bonaparte at Mont St. Bernard (http://www.art.com/asp/sp-asp/_/pd--10032524/Bonaparte_at_Mount_St_Bernard.htm) . You even got the red cloak!! Four stars!!
Great job!! :applause:

Really nice painting,
Just two little things: I would have left more space on the left of the image(like the characters would be more on the right not in the center of the painting) and his right arm(raised) seems a bit too long to me .
But again, it is a really cool painting, well done
Pascal
There is nothing going on in the black parts of your painting, its just flat, fix that, and it will be super
The biceps triceps and deltoid are all too distended and elongated, which makes the raised are look wrong. Bring the biceps and deltoid back a bit towards his chest/shoulder and it will look more natural.

I really like this brushed style... great
so nice!! the hudge red mantle looks great in this painting!!!:applause:
Everything is great, but there's one thing that does not fit in the concept, its his tight jacket. The muscles are great yeah, but if you ask me... he would look much better wearing the black frock coat maybe.
But that's just my opinion... anyway... thumbs up

Man, really beautiful paintwork, I'm really just in awe! The colors are just gorgeous, too. As for crits on the composition and the monster: Well, the creature is so dark, it's very hard to read in most places. And the rider's pants are so dark that he appears to grow right out of the beast instead of sitting atop it. I think that having a stronger silhouette might make it read a lot better even if the creature were to stay dark. For example, pulling the front legs left and away from the body more might help to make them read better. Especially consider moving its front left leg: its silhouette isn't showing up much at all against the rest of the body. Also, the gap behind that knee where the red is showing through reads as exactly the same shape and color as the eye, so it reads as another eye. I'm not sure whether you intended that, but if not, shifting the legs will help that as well.
but no matter what, it's still a lovely piece. Thanks for sharing it!

 Very nice work!
But the Dragon horse is too dark and the face expression of your hero does not fit with energy of entire image. It is as if the hero's mind is somewhere else.
Of course all these are my hamble opinion.

i love the idea of the dinosour horse. i definitly had never though of the idea of mixing a hoarse and a dinosaur. the shadow does seem a little dark, but i think it adds good contrast to the picture.

Everything is great. Brushes are very nice and so is the color. It is ok that the "horse" is dark. It gives nice contrast and makes the rider stand out too. The only thing i see is that his right arm (the one he is raising in the air) is a little too long. nice work.

great great painting !! color, composition, proportions perfect.
for the crits from others: your tips would make the image to be read easier, but i feel it wouldnt make it better.
I dont think the horse is too dark, please dont add unnecessary detail, that should be filled with the viewers imagination.
the only suggestion: the strokes in the sky follow too much the shape of the body. since the sky isnt a part of the body, the strokes shouldnt follow it. the only painter i know who didnt avoid this was edvard munch.
It would stregthen the images structure, if the strokes would go apart.
can you tell us which painter Brush you have used?

Painter9.0 Artists'Oils.
I did a lot of trials, but have no ability always to find out in the painter9 can draw a classic oil painting that kind of very transparent appearance texture of method.

It's very nice, and I like the brushstrokes.
One thing that sort of bugs me is the anatomy of the horse/dinosaur. I'm trying to read it as a horse: that it is now throwing its front legs in the air but normally walks on all fours. It has these massive hind legs yet (in comparison) quite tiny front legs. I think it would be really unbalanced if it did walk on four legs, and the rider would most likely topple over.

I love your work--- great oil painting feeling. As for the avatar matter, you need 30 posts to be able to put up an avatar. Wait for about a day after putting up 30 posts and you will be able to edit your avatar.
Hope this helps!
Cheers.

Hey, good stuff, nice colors and contrast. And that horse is not too dark, it looks really good and defines a very nice sillouette.

Just ordered the Software (Painter IX), and cannot wait to play with it...
I love your brush stroke weather you intended to show or not. It tells more about your touch on the piece of painting (either digital or traditional). I am wondering if one of your inspirational master painters would be Sargent... right?

I can surf through lots of pieces on CG and although enjoy myself thoroughly, and not find anything particularly unusual.
In some ways I hope you continue to work in this style... Kind of reminds me of Phil Hale. Definately a good person to be comparable to.
As regards criticisms; Steed, Horse, mount... can be as dark as you like, but should have more contrast with riders leg.
Also... and I don't know whether its just me... What's going on with the beasts mane? I don't find it distracting as such... but... well... Is it a mane?
Anyway, great stuff.
