Title: Predator
Name: Christophe Vacher
Country: United States
Software: Photoshop
Cover (front and back) for the book "Predator's Gold" that just came out this month (November) at Harper Collins Publishing.
I used Photoshop.
The greens in the small city are not a mistake. They are there to accentuate the sense of hope -along with the light on the city- in contrast with the giant, menacing city and the cold, sterile environment.
The sense of scale was very important.
All feedbacks are welcome.

Beautiful castle, wonderful landscape... but it's your cloudscapes that, as always, blow me away. Gorgeous stuff, I've always been a big fan of yours. Thanks for showing this one to us!

I'm just looking at this again and I'm still utterly amazed by your level of skill, and how beautifully you can work in the digital medium as well. I hope you don't mind if I say this is as beautiful as something John Howe would paint ^^;
Is is possible for you to post some full-rez close-ups so we can see how you achieve the textures? Also, did you use any layers for this?
