OK...i need to model the bottom part of the lightbulb....the metall part...the part u screw into the socket....and i need to model it with MetaNurbs....anyone up for the challange to help me ?

any ideas....any at all ?

i've done something like this before. If I werent' on my laptop, I'd provide screengrabs. Sorry about that.

Basically what I did (for a phone cord) was I created an 8-sided ring of polys using the disk tool. Then I cut it in half and moved the side closest to me up a meter. (For repetition), then I moved the opposite side down a meter. Then I copy/pasted into another layer, stretched it horizontally at -100% so that it'd be the reciprocal, and then moved it a meter so the points'd line up. Then I did a clone pass to make a bunch of 'threads'

The result was a corkscrew shape of polys that you could smooth shift to turn into threads.
