View Full Version : Random rotation of a captured dab type?

So I just finished watching the Neville Page DVD from Gnomon on painting flesh.

In the DVD he shows how he creates a brush for painting in veins in Photoshop. I am trying to duplicate the brush in Painter XI and the only thing I can't find is a way to have the brush randomly rotate as I paint. What I am seeing is the rotation is dependant on the direction of my stroke (i.e if I paint from left to right, the dab is always rotated the same direction, same for other directions) What I am looking for is a way for the dab to be randomly rotated, regardless of the direction, I want the rotation to always be random.

Any ideas appreciated.

Try setting the Angle Expression to either Tilt, Bearing, or Random? One of them might be what you are looking for.

That was it! I set it to Random instead of Direction...Duh!
