creepy in a grim fandango sort of way. :) I think the scene needs something more in it though. Atmosphere, clutter, something.

Hey cool thing - I really like the mood here. It looks like something that you would expect to find in Oddworld (have you played any of those games?)
The dim lighting is very cool.

god damn i love that style. do you have a website???

can you tell me about your lighting setup?

I really like the clutter free setting... it keeps the focus clear and clean.

hey thanx alot im glad you like it :-)

i don't have a web site up yet but i plan to sometime soon

for the lighting I used mostly directional lights in Maya with a plug-in called ray diffuse

sweet, whats the render times on that (raydiffuse)?

Is this by any chance influenced by Tool... it has that same murky atmosphere. Plus the head of the character looks a little like the stop motion dude from Schism.

I also saw some toilet references at there concerts :)

Whens the short due for release?

cool looks like the character from the tool video schizm you know the little dude who comes out of the alien's body?????? looks really cool though, nice render

the render time wasn't really that bad...but ray diffuse does bogg things down alot it was about 8 minutes a frame i think.
and yeah i am very influenced by adam and cam but i did the concept design for this befor lateralus was released.

Excellent scene, I love the mood, and the creepy setting.

Why don't you try this tutorial for creating Global illumination in maya http://www.highend3d.com/maya/tutorials/gi/

hey thanks for all the feed back guys...i looked into the whole sky dome lighting trick...since most of my models are pretty simple it seems like it just might work.

Definitely something unique and new.

I always like the little details in backgrounds; namely the pile of bricks and the the rust below the metal aperture.

This looks somewhat inspired by the video for the song "Prison Sex" by Tool. I can't complain... Tool is my favorite band! :-)
