This is my first attempt at 3D modeling, so be gentle. My first question has to do with obtaining realism. The details like the paintings on the walls and the lattice work on the ceiling is fairly unimportant to me right now (though I would enjoy comments.) The brick will be worked on, and the wood flooring will be replaced. Note: weird objects in scene are place holders for actual people to be composited later. They are each 6 feet tall.

Beside that stuff, what is the first step I should take to improve the realism of this scene? The ducting and lattice work has no texturing, what material should it be made of?

Modeled in Blender 2.34, rendered in Yafray.

Earlier composite coverted to B&W...

Comments and criticism welcome!

like the b/w a lot, the colored is not so good, may it is because of the colors, but I am not sure... there is something in that color-render which I dislike

what are you planning to do in the scene, really an office? so desks and so on?
