View Full Version : background
I'm creating an outdoor environement for a little animation. the problem is that the "line" where the sky meets the dessert ground is really sharp, and not natural. how can you make a realistic looking horizont? or is it just DOF?
another question is, how big do you make your environment compared to the, for example, vehicle. because if I make it too big maya "cut" the polys which are too far away. (in the viewport..)

ok that is messed up lol. Basically if you were to make an enviorment, you would see little crappy broken up squars right?, try increasing the resolution when you render out your animation.
or increase your poly limit, it should be under the polygons menu.
that all I can think of.

Check out Near-Far Clipping Planes values of your
cameraShape (Attribute Editor).

DOF could help. Add some far away fog as well. Try adding objects, such as forests or buildings, to obscure the horizon as well.

just open your camera attributes...and in there...change the far clipping settings....this will help you out in the viewport
