I am trying to knock out a couple of little spec projects where I would like to have a semi-reasonably masculine hairdo on one character. So, I go to turbosquid, type in "hair" and there are maybe two models with hair that isn't Maya or a special plug. hair dryers, blow driers, a couple of combs,... I knew there wasn't a lot of stuff out there, but this is wacky.

I'm avoiding the 2D saslitey hair. My understanding is that it doesn't light correctly, and isn't subject to any deformers, and is slow to render. This hair will probably not get much close-up action anyway.

Now, I know there are some pretty fine models out there with clip-map hair out there, because I have a rudimentary example named "Misaki" that I've used for everything from shoes, to fingernails to lingerie. I love it. I lost my copy of it once, then found it again on renderosity and bought it (the first was some sort of freebie).

Who has a favorite? Something leaning toward wavy curly barber-shop cut? This isn't for dough, not yet. All suggestions welcome.
