View Full Version : What am I doing wrong?

I've installed 3ds max 4 with brazil. I want to use a hdr image but I can't open it. (?) I downloaded a plugin called hdri v1.0.1 from splutterfish, but I don't understand how to install it. What am I doing wrong? The stupid help and tutorialfile only explain what to do AFTER you've installed it but I can't find anywhere how to do that. Copying the hdri.bmi file to the pluginmap didn't work. >:(

the hdri.bmi file should be placed in your \plugins\ directory or wherever you choose if its in your plugins.ini.

once it is installed (by placing it in said directory), it is accessible in max as a file i/o type. for example, if you add a bitmap to a material and it prompts for the map to be chosen, HDRI will be one of the file types (bmp, tga, jpg, etc) you are able to choose from.

Doh! I accidently dropped the file in the \plugcfg directory. Oops :blush:
