Hi folks,

i hope this is the appropriate forum section ...

Does anyoen know a good PNG Converter ? I have to convert lot of 8Bit PNGs into 4Bit, 1Bit transparency PNGs. I have tried all possible combinations in Photoshop but i did not get the expected result. The colors are OK but the transparency is plainly horrible. Sure i could do this by hand, but considering the fact that i have about 300 pictures to convert you can imagine how long this would take. So does anybody know a good tool for converting 8bit PNGs to 4Bit PNG with a 1Bit alpha ? Help very much appreciated ...

Can't do that in Corel Photo-PAINT's either, even with their scripting language. Best thing to do is since PNG format is a simple format is to find a coder that can do the dithering (if any is needed for your 8-bit to 4-bit conversion) and save it the the format you want.

EDIT: Actually I think I misinterpreted your question. 1-8 bit ping split to 1-4 bit png and 1 1-bit ping right? If so I do believe the Corel VBA can do that.

Post an example image, let people have a try. Maybe someone will come up with something.
