Man I really love 2D animation, more so than 3D. I have been working at doing digital hand drawn animation through Painter 7 with a Wacom (of course). Have any of you worked with Painter 6 or 7 to do animation? For finals I can flush it through Adobe After Effects.

characteranim78: those were really cool to see in pencil, though I think the grey tones from the paper in the background could have been cleaned up in something like Photoshop/greyscale/levels.

Also, are there any strictly 2D boards about animation, or sites?

the only one you need :

Also keep an eye on sites like AWN.com for great news and such, and Shaneglines has two great forums (bombarded with popup ads) that are not classical animation specific, but simply grawing n general, but many of the artists there are illustrators or in classical animation in some area.
